What do I need to run Enercom 2000?

Enercom 2000 requires Windows 95/98/ME/XP/NT or 2000. Enercom requires one serial port in addition to the mouse. Most new desktop computers have one or two serial ports, identified as 9-pin, male (pins sticking out), trapazoid-shaped connectors on the back of the computer. If a notebook is equipped with a serial port, and it will have one male 9-pin connector. New notebooks do not have this connector, and will require a USB-Serial adapter.
Older computers: If you are running Windows 3.1(1), you must download and install Enercom version 7.5. Some old desktops have a 25-pin serial port, which will require a 25-to-9 pin cable AND a null modem.

Where do I get Enercom 2000?

Enercom 2000 can be downloaded from the software section of our website. You can also call the factory for a free CD containing the newest version of the software.

How do I install Enercom 2000?

If you have the CD in your drive, run the Startup.exe program and click Install Enercom. If you've downloaded the software, you should have saved a file Enercom2K.exe to your computer. Run this file to decompress the installation program. Choose a directory save the install files temporarily. Then run the SETUP.EXE program that you will find in that directory.
NOTE: If this is the first time you are installing Enercom 2000, you will most likely have to reboot your computer and re-run the setup program. Follow the instructions and you will be OK.

How do I communicate with my Enerac?

  1. Turn on your Enerac.
  2. Models 2000(e), & 3000(e): Bypass any messages so that "Insert Probe In Stack" is displayed.
  3. Connect your Enerac with the serial cable provided to the serial port of your computer.
  4. Start Enercom. Your Enerac should appear as an icon on the left side of the Enercom screen.

What should I do if I have communication problems with my Enerac?

If you have established communication before, but are having difficulty now, If you have never established communication before, try the following:
  1. Right-click the serial port icon and choose properties.
  2. Select 1200 baud for Models 2000(e), & 3000(e). Select 9600 baud for models 200, 400, 500 & 700.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click Refresh at the bottom of the screen to establish communication.
If you still do not see your Enerac on the left of the screen: If you still do not see your Enerac on the left of the screen: If you still have difficulties, the Enerac must be reutrned to the factory for repair.
